"This is a crisis situation requiring sustained efforts from all of us to support our fellow New Yorkers. I hope you'll consider dropping off blankets and coats at my office, making a donation to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York, or continuing to give your time at volunteer sites throughout the city."
"As stated by our Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman:
'As one of the most historic and devastating storms to ever hit the Northeast region, Hurricane Sandy has impacted each and every one of us. Despite the incredible destruction we have encountered, New Yorkers are resilient...' Today, we call upon you, the Puerto Rican Bar Association Community, to lend a helping hand to our fellow New Yorkers. Whether volunteering your time or donating clothing, blankets, batteries, generators, etc., everything will be put to use. Please help our fellow New Yorkers during this time of need. "
